Maison ExC

The history of Atelier ExC

Atelier ExC is a third generation family company. For 43 years, we have been an established value in the Ghent region and far beyond! Even before 1980, Ebru Sari’s grandfather, M. Dede Koyuncu, ran a textile shop in Ghent. There, he sold numerous exclusive design carpets and luxurious fabrics to couturiers. In 2006, his daughter and son-in-law started a business for women’s and men’s clothing in the same city. That is how our bespoke tailoring company came to be.

"You don't have to be famous to live out your own red carpet moment."

A well-established career in fashion for Ebru Sari

In 2012, Ebru Sari started her architecture studies with a great vision. However, shortly after finishing her master’s degree, she joined the family business to pursue a career in fashion. From the outside world, it would seem a career switch that could hardly be any more extreme; for entrepreneur Ebru herself it seemed only logical, since she comes from a family with a rich textile history.

Power couple at the head of a haute couture business

When Ebru got married in February 2016, she decided to take on a new challenge with her husband Cagdas Sari. By the end of 2016, she had founded her own haute couture business. The power couple accomplished a strategic rebranding, resulting in the creation of Atelier ExC. The business is located in one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Sint-Amandsberg!

A fun fact about the naming of Atelier ExC: ‘E’ and ‘C’ are the couple’s initials. As Cagdas is co-owner and Ebru’s right hand, it was an obvious choice to incorporate elements of both their names in their brand.

From a modest fabric store to a renowned atelier

What had begun in 1980 as a modest fabric store has throughout the years grown into a fashionable clothing store and atelier for women. Each generation added something of their own to the company; always evolving with the spirit of the times, but with steadfast loyalty to the remarkable standard and excellent service that started it all at the end of the 20th century.

To this day, our main goal remains unchanged: we are committed to quality and traditional craftsmanship. By applying the knowledge and experience she gained over three generations, our designer Ebru Sari brings that passion and skill to the world’s most determined and demanding women.
